Öcher Bend is a big funfair in my hometown Aachen, Germany. The citizens of Aachen understand by "bend" two things: Firstly, a large lawn, secondly, the Aachen fair. Twice a year the traditional Aachen fair starts: "The Bend is open!" The meadow was mentioned as "Bent" for the first time in the year 1413. And it is called "Öcher" Bend because "Oche" is the dialect name for Aachen.
