Piperaceae
Peperomia come in a variety of sizes, from tiny epiphytes to groundcovering mats to shrubby plants up to 3-4 feet tall. The larger terrestrial plants can be fairly uncommon because they're easily damaged by pigs, dogs and people. There are many species, both native and pantropical.
