These are the sadly neglected native orchids of Hawai'i: Liparis Hawaiensis, Anoectochilus Sandvicensis, and Platanthera Holochila.
I have only found one small patch of native anoectichilus orchids and one other single plant in my years of exploring the wilderness on Hawai'i. The second plant was consumed by pigs within a week of discovery.
I was also fortunate to notice a colony of liparis orchids at our helicopter landing zone below Hanawi NAR during the East Maui Forest Bird Survey. I have not seen liparis on Hawaii Island yet.
