Looking West down the steep fenceline road between the Honomalino and Kapu'a sections, TNC Kona Hema preserve. (looks flat, but that's all downhill) Tree ferns on the left and mamaki on the right. The fenceline is kept clear of trees so that the fence won't be breached by falling trees or limbs. Cutting the preserve into several fenced sections allows a much more thorough removal of pigs and sheep, and prevents them from dispersing across the entire preserve in case of a fence breach.
