'Aheahea

Widespread and closely related to many edible plants such as spinach, beets and quinoa. The native shrub chenopodium oahuense looks similar to lambsquarter (also edible), but grows into large woody bush and emits a foul smell. Apparently the native Hawaiians ate it in lean times, but one whiff and you'll conclude they must have been very desperate to do so.
