M 108

M 108 does not have the obvious core or central bulge
that most spiral galaxies have, but it does show rather
heavy and chaotic dust lanes. This galaxy is close to the
planetary nebula M 97. This image has been cropped from one
found in the "Canon Digital Camera" gallery which contains
both objects. In the small area covered by this cropped image,
a number of smaller galaxies are visible.
