NGC 300

This spiral galaxy, located in the constellation Sculptor,
is one of the closest galaxies to the Milky Way at a distance
of 6 million light years. The arms of the galaxy are dominated
by young, hot blue stars and glowing red areas of new star
formation, while the center of the galaxy is filled with older
yellow stars. NGC 300 is 94,000 light years in diameter, a bit
smaller than our Milky Way.
