NGC 1850 is the bright star cluster near the center of this image. It is located within
the Large Magellanic Cloud, a small satellite galaxy of the Milky Way, 168 light years
from earth. This image shows the cluster enveloped in glowing tendrils of gas and dust,
likely the result of supvernovae in this area.
