NGC 2903

This galaxy in Leo is about 20 million light years from earth.
It is a "barred spiral", with two main arms stretching out from
the central part of the galaxy. The Milky Way is also a barred
spiral; NGC 2903, with a diameter of 100,000 light years,
is also about the same size as the Milky Way.
The inner disk of the galaxy of this galaxy is a place of
unusually active star formation.
