Jock is a Scotsman who lives in Arnhem with his Dutch wife Ineke. He has been a friend for many years and visited us in the valley for the first time. Jock and Ineke are both professionals but they play music as a pastime. Their group is comprised of two fiddles, a guitar, Ineke’s pennywhistle and Jock’s bodhrán. The bodhrán is an Irish frame drum. They play Irish and Scottish folk tunes and they know far more about mountain music than I ever will. They recognized many of the local tunes as they are still played in Scotland and Ireland.
Great visit Jock and Ineke with many, many laughs. It went by far too swiftly.
