Keeping an Eye Out

Dick and I have been hearing about this bear for several weeks. He is known to have a bad attitude and the rangers estimate his weight at 300 pounds. We have been seeing his sign on the ridge he frequents but did not see him until last weekend. Thrilling sight. At 1/60th he looks like he was doing the old soft shoe.

I'm jealous. I need to work on my own soft shoe routine.
I'm glad you played it safe with this guy and still got
a great photo. Voted.

A telephoto lens is a great plan. Excellent candid shots.

You got some great shots of this black bear. Glad he was busy foraging and didn't get interested in you. Voted.

I've never seen one this close in the wild for more than a second or two. Usually you are walking along in the woods and there they are. Then they go tearing off before you can even say, 'How do yo do'.

Great catch - it's always exhilarating when you see them. I've only see a few and get too excited to get vaguely reasonable pictures!!

Exceptional find and capture, Buz.. These critters don't like to be seen, you did very well finding him. However....for me your lens is about 800mm too short. LOL. Vote

I think I would want a longer lens!! Excellent capture Buz! vote
