Two Gulls over Sevierville

Now what are sea birds doing in the foothills of the Appalachians and on the western side at that? My guess is that they've been here for generations. Their ancestors must have moved up the Mississippi, on to the Tennessee River, up the French Broad and finally to the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River. A group of maybe ten was in a parking lot within fifty yards of the Pigeon River. And once again I had on the wrong lens. :^)

My sincere thanks for all the comments and votes yesterday. You guys are the greatest.

A great capture of these 2 pretty flying birds :) It's the timing of light and composition made this shot great :)

They are a ways from the sea but seagulls are very resourceful at finding food. Great capture. I love their whiteness against the blue sky.

We even see some here in central Ohio every now and again. Great colors. A little noise in the sky, but mostly due to the compression to put on pBase.

It is so strange to see gulls so far inland. They seem to hang out in shopping center parking lots all over the country.

This is wonderful...and that is strange that these birds are here.

They could be pigeons in disguise.

Nice catch, Buz. I haven't seen any sea gulls around here, but we have had some swans at the local lake for a few days, which I've never seen around here. I didn't get any great shots of them, but at least some documentation of them.
