Dan Lawson Place

The original settlers of Cades Cove maintained wagon roads. One of those roads is now a modern road that forms an 11 mile loop around the border of the cove. In addition to seeing wild game along here, park visitors have the chance to see old mountain homesteads. This particular log cabin is the Dan Lawson Place and it is believed to have been built around 1856.

Another beautiful scenery. I believe that the morning sun on winter time always gives something special lighting effect on the photo like this one with superb lighting and the plays of shadows on the snow looked so great. Vote. :)

An excellent image Buz, the old cabin appears to be in very good shape for as old as it is. I love the setting, and that old rail fence really adds to your nicely composed image..GMV
PS really like the frame...

Beautiful shot......perhaps we can see this cabin in a close up one day-I'm sure that it is quite interesting itself with quite a story to tell.
