Old Valley Home

This old place is still occupies by a fellow in his 90s. Ever autumn he sets plies of beautiful pumpkins and gourds on his porch which he sells. Without the colors of those vegetables available I thought the placed looked better in B&W.

A fine B&W shot of this wonderful old homestead, Buz.
It looks like it's just about ready to fall down!
Kind regards, Chris

B&W certainly makes the picture here. Nice angle.

Wonderful B&W! Can you imagine the memories in this old house? I agree with Karen. I bet he's content here. Very nice work, Buz.

An all too common sight in Appalachia. But I know he's content and this is superb in b/w.

Yes, the b&w sets the perfect tone.

It looks superb in black and white Buz. I love the textures and dark shadows of the house. It looks somewhat run down but has an atmospheric atmosphere about it and a sense of mystery, very intruiging indeed. A great composition.

:( quite sad to read your commentary Buz. Wish the man living there has a companion and not living on his own, or I wish he's still very strong. Making too the photo is black and white enhances the gloominess of the house and the surrounding and also with your commentary.

This is a wonderful image, especially in black and white.

Xllnt B&W shot! Perhaps the community can group together & help him with the roof & porch? Nice capture ~

Black and white treatment is perfect for this shot.

I like this black and white image, it really does a superb job of discribing the run down nature of this old house. I guess everyone knows about an elderly person who is on their own and never really pays much attention to them. They live their life alone and then one day we read about their passing....

Kind of a sad picture, thinking about a man in his nineties living in a house that is in disrepair. It looks like his roof is starting to go in the lower corner. There should be some group that could help him with it.

Beautiful in b&w. The view must be nice in autumn, surely.

I like this, Buz. The black and white conversion really works with this shot. The house really looks pretty sound except for the porch roof, so it should provide shelter for this gentleman for awhile yet.

I like it as a b&w Buz. It must look great with the pumpkins all around in the fall..
