My neighbor, a life-long local fellow, told me about a wonderful trail I had never seen before. I spent two afternoons, Monday and yesterday, shooting the first half-mile. The trail is a graded roadbed, actually a railroad bed, in the Tremont area. The trail follows a wonderful creek with many, many small falls and runs. A long cascade is about 1/2 mile in and it is extraordinary but difficult to shoot because of the trees and its length. The cascade is at least 100 yards long. It was beautiful to see and the roar as the rainwater of several days made its way was great: wild and free flowing. Above the cascade it flows through a narrow gorge. Icing on the cake: the rhododendrons were in bloom.
I left as darkness was falling and on the drive out, I came to this little spot feeding into the larger creek.Hope you enjoy.
