The Youghiogheny Glass company mainly deals in stained glass today, but in the late 90's and early 2000's they made beautiful paperweights and sculpture as well. From what I've been able to ascertain, an artist named Steve Fenstermacher made most of their sculptural/pw work, so this one was probably made by Steve. This paperweight is brilliant, with a fumed swirl inside, and then coldworking on the outside to accentuate all of the inside and give you incredible light play. There is a star carved deep into the backside, and then stripes around the rest of it, alternating frosted and mirrored. SOOOO gorgeous in hand!! Fenstermacher is really good!
