James Thingwold: "Desert Dance" Size: 1.53" Price: SOLD

Jim Thingwold is one of the legends in the boro world, having worked with glass and boro for more than 40 years. He is the founder, owner and editor of Glassline magazine, a trade publication that has helped countless glass artists grow and learn in their careers for almost 2 decades now. He is one of the old school artists who used to blow glass for Knott's Berry Farm, a large amusement park in Southern California, and in the early 2000's he made a small number of marbles. This is one of those rare gems acquired directly from Jim. It is not signed, but features his usual color palette of very earthy tones, often swirled together like this in cane-like fashion. It is fairly distinct if you've seen enough of his work, although there isn't much of it out there to see. I'm not even sure who else has any of his marbles besides me, but I know there's more out there somewhere. Don't miss this rare opportunity to own a sweet piece of borosilicate and marble history here!
