In 2009/2010, Ro Purser teamed up with Glass Eye Studio to design a group of marbles for the Cisco Systems Corporation. These marbles were given away for 5 year, 10 year, 15 year (etc.) awards to employees of the company - yeah, I know, why couldn't I have worked for Cisco?!? Employees were able to select the style of marbles they wanted for certain year awards. This marble here is one of the 10 year possibilities, and much harder to find than the red star 10 year version for some reason, and this is only the 4th I've ever had for sale, quite rare. There are 12 marbles in the series altogether, 2 for each 5 year period up to 30 years. These marbles are increasingly hard to come by now that they aren't being given away any longer to employees, and the existing ones are being tucked away into collections.

This particular marble has a gorgeous mottled transparent blue and green with white swirl, with two layers of bubbles added in there. The whole core is then slightly twisted. Extremely beautiful glass and a killer example of this style! These marbles are a major slice of history in the contemporary art glass marble movement, and every collection should strive to add at least one. No wooden case with this one.
