Ralf comes from a long lineage of German master glass artisans (going back over 550 years), honing his glass craft in the famous glass village of Lauscha, Germany to this day, which was actually built around the glass factory that Hans Greiner founded. Ralf is one of the classic early marble artists who helped get this marble movement going, creating his beautiful gems in the furnace in classic one-off style using soft soda-lime glass. He has always loved to use goldstone in his work, and you see some of the most beautiful examples of its use in his marbles that you'll ever see. His style is quite unique and recognizable for many of his marbles in that he did some really interesting back and forth twists, and you will begin to easily see these marbles as his work once you've seen a group of them. He mixes up the coloring, going from super bright colors to classic black and white simplicity, and you'll never tire of the candy-like sweetness of his creations. This is fantastic marble history, and works that complete collections should all have.
