"Swehttam" Size: 2.89" Price: SOLD

Matthews beach balls are very, very rare, I believe because they are sometimes difficult to make without issues. Case in point was this batch made back in 2005, which I believe was the last time he tried to make them. Mark had trouble with some of the color cracking, mainly the orange, and because of his worry about future issues with the marbles, they were signed specially, with his last name spelled backwards, HA! The MIG in the signature stands for 'Matthews Interest Group', which was a special group of fanatic Matthews collectors who started meeting back in 2005. Many of them did indeed end up cracking, especially the larger ones, this one included, as you can see in the 2nd pic of the orange color. This was the first and only time that Mark decided to release flawed marbles to the public, just because of the type of marble it was, and so as a result, and strangely enough, these marbles have become real collector pieces that are hard to find! A rare chance indeed at such a historic marble! Signed 'Swehttham M.I.G. 2005'. (Please ignore the smudge mark on the yellow glass in the first pic which I just noticed - I checked the marble and it wiped right off. My dang glasses must have been smudged as well, not sure how I didn't see that while taking the pics, doh.)
