Here is another amazing marble in which Masa continues his work in expressing in spherical form the traditional culture of Japan. This time it is a HUGE marble, largest from Masa that I've ever sold, that is absolutely packed and loaded with stunning detail. Ryu-jin is the Dragon God of Japan, one of their most famous and revered gods. The Ryu-jin created on this marble by Masa was inspired by the ceiling of the Kenchoji Temple in Kyoto which I had the pleasure of visiting on one of my trips there. It is a very famous painting that was painted by Jun Koizumi, a great Japanese painter that Masataka really respects. For the pigment in the body of the Ryu-jin Masa uses a color shifting pigment that is really amazing in hand. Again, I can't stress enough just how much more amazing this piece is in hand and how badly the pics fail to capture it all. I will place a video of the marble on my Instagram page, but even the vid doesn't really do the piece justice. It is utterly INCREDIBLE in hand!!! This piece also has Masa's latest style of mandala on the backside, his most complex design yet, stunningly beautiful and AMAZING to see thru the kaleidoscopic lens on top. It comes in its own nice padded wooden box, signed on top of the box with the name of the marble in Kanji.
