Scotty Mickle is one of those glass artists who is constantly striving for absolute perfection in his work, and well, when it comes to marbles, that's what we collectors LOVE! Every piece that he makes is flawless beauty that is chock full of technical prowess. These gems are true wonders to behold in hand and you are going to NEEEED some marbles from this amazing and gifted artist in your collection! Scotty hails from Vermont where he lives with his wife and young daughter (as of 2024), creating glass that is as beautiful as everything that surrounds him there, and drawing on the things he learned as a student of architecture in his university days. This background in geometry and visionary patterns informs much of what he translates into hot glass, but the fact that he is able to produce such controlled patterns within a molten medium is truly amazing. After turning to the torch in 2010, Scotty taught himself all of the basic lampworking skills initially, before moving to Colorado in 2014 to fully immerse himself in the glass culture there and begin to up his game to the soaring heights we see now. In those years we really started to see the architectural forms start to flow thru his hollow work, and then in 2019 he dived into the world of millefiori creation as well. I'm so excited that his journey now includes the spherical world of marbles and that I can offer his round masterpieces to all of you here.
