Yoshinori Kondo, Rose Roads & Daisuke Saito: "Team Japan #1" Size: 2.53" Price: SOLD

Five of these astounding triple collabs were made by Team Japan for the marble exhibition at the Thank You Expo in Toronto in May of 2013. Team Japan also competed in the flameoff and won that event, and they wanted to bring some special pieces to the show to commemorate their time there. And special pieces they were, 5 of the best marbles the world had ever seen to that point in time. Yoshi took sections from both Junichi Kojima (Rose Roads) and Daisuke and then combined them into large marbles with his incredible dotwork surrounding those sections. Truly mind-boggling glass art at is very finest with awe-inspiring detail! These are EXTREMELY limited edition marbles, and Yoshi said there would not be any more made, unless Team Japan is reunited again for an event in the future.

This was the very first Team Japan collab ever created, the first the world has ever seen. It is MAGNIFICENT in hand!! You can see in the pics that Yoshi created a little dot stack cup which houses the fumed implosion portion that Daisuke created. There are then four Yoshi sections created over top of the corners of this cup. You can then see in the last pic that there are FOUR MORE awesome opals tucked away underneath those Yoshi sections - yes, you have to truly explore this marble to really catch all of its magnificence. Then of course there's the main opal that is blazing away in the middle of all of that. As you can see, the design allows you to see through to the back of the Rose Roads section, with the marble's magnification really bringing it all to life. When you flip the marble over, your eyes are assaulted, in the BEST way possible, with SOOO many colorful dots of glass that you'll find it hard to believe - especially when you see how perfectly they are arranged, in staggering tiny detail. Just LOOK at the precision in this thing!!! It seems impossible that human hands pulled this off. It's all tied together with Yoshi's mind-blowing dot work around the equator. It's truly hard to believe and comprehend.

These Team Japan marbles are, quite simply, THE BEST marbles that have ever been created, BY FAR. Nothing preceding these even comes close, and it's hard to imagine what they could ever do for an encore. These are suitable for any glass museum in the world, suitable for any palace in the world, to be marveled at by kings and queens. If you are able, if you have the means - this is the glass that you want to have in the centerpiece of your collection. It won't get any better than this, not for quite a while anyway. Prepare to have your mind melted if you get to see these in hand!
