Tomomi Handa and Rose Roads: "Exquisite Sunrise" Size: 1.58" Price: SOLD

This is unquestionably one of the most beautiful marbles that has ever been created in the history of art glass marbles. This stunning beauty is one of three collaboration marbles that I commissioned Tomomi to create using Rose Roads cabs that I sent to her back in early 2013, and these were the first collaboration marbles of any kind that Tomomi ever created. She was excited and nervous to handle such amazing cabs like these from the already legendary Junichi Kojima (Rose Roads), but as you can see, she poured her heart and soul into the project and the results were absolutely MIND BLOWING!! I kept one in my collection, and then there is this one and one other out there in another collection. This is your chance to own one of the most special pieces of art glass marble history that is available to us right now, featuring the joining together of two of the greatest and most popular Japanese glass artists which the world has seen to this point.

The detail Tomomi included in this marble is exquisite, perfectly placed in all the right places, highlighting every spot that needed to be highlighted and uplifted. The colors and design chosen complement Jun's icy blue dot mandala magnificently, with the cab resting down inside the marble a ways, and backed up against one of Tomomi's amazing cabs. The delicate lace work of Tomomi juxtaposed against the dot work of Junichi is rich and tantalizing. To pull it all together, Tomomi then covered the equator of the marble with a host of her surface flowers, using soft glass tech which she is amazingly able to incorporate into the stiffer boro glass. The end result is a marble that is flat out as magnificent as you will find, a rare gem for the ages that is fit for the best of the world class collections out there. Not surprisingly, I'm having a hard time letting go of this one again! There is one small rough spot on the equator that is as-made, from Tomomi, a place where there is a little devit (devitrification) where she didn't get everything completely smoothed out, but it doesn't distract from the piece and I didn't even notice it at first.
