Marbles for Hope: An Art Glass Marble Benefit Calendar

Fourteen contemporary art glass marble artists have joined forces to donate works and release a 2018 (14-month) calendar to benefit children's oncology. The calendar features works by JD Anderson, Kaj Beck, Piper Daniel Benway, Sabina Boehm, Stephen Boehme, Raven Copeland, Freddy Faerron, Tim Keyzers, Raj Kommineni, Daniel Porte, Ben Ramsey, Kenan Tiemeyer, Travis Weber and James Yaun. The marbles represented in the calendar will be available through auction on Ebay that I will run soon, under my Ebay handle 'bkbowden'. We will be announcing each auction though the "Marble Collectors Page" and other marble groups on Facebook, as well as my Instagram page, @glass_orbits. The artists will promote as well. Right now we're looking at mid-October to start the auctions.

100% of the proceeds from the marble auctions and 100% of the profit from the calendars (above material costs) will be donated to two children's oncology departments at hospitals, those being the El Paso Children's Hospital (in El Paso, TX), and the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children (in Denver, CO).

Marbles for Hope is a contemporary art glass marble community grassroots effort. All photography and layout for the calendar was provided pro bono by glass artist and phtographer Ben Ramsey. JD Anderson and Freddy Faerron conceptualized and coordinated the event along with the 12 other donating artists. Mr. Bowden offered his representation for the endeavor and also serves as treasurer. "We hope this event sparks as much joy, imagination and generosity for everyone touched by it, as it has for all of us", said coordinator Freddy Faerron. "Benefiting children's oncology is close to my heart because I am a pediatric oncology nurse", said glass artist and coordinator JD Anderson. Marbles for Hope is thrilled to empower this very special cause with this joint expression of creative love.
