I'm sooo stoked to have the wonderful work of this amazing artist on Glass ORBits now! Robert Koch hails from beautiful Idaho and has been blowing glass since 2004. Rob's forte is amazing murrine that he creates using the hot construction method, and he draws a majority of his inspiration from the stunning nature that surrounds where he lives. Fruits, vegetables and little critters galore, his work celebrates the beauty of our glorious Earth. Having personally grown up around bees and nature as a child in Wisconsin with a beekeeper grandpa, I am especially in love with the glass work of this talented artist! I also love skull art, and that's another thing Rob incorporates, so his glass pretty much hits all the marks for me, ha ha. He brings his designs together into colorful spherical wonder, and they are AMAZING to explore in hand! These marbles look really awesome together in groups, so you are going to want a nice batch of them in the collection. And whether or not you're able to add any of these marbles to your collection, I hope you at least enjoy exploring all of the beautiful pics of his glass spheres!
About half of the marbles that I offer from Rob will also include murrine work from the great Stephen Boehme. The work of Steve complements Rob's work soooo well, and they live close enough to each other (Steve in Utah) so that they are able to easily collaborate on projects together, share murrine, etc., and the results are outrageously cool! Some of the murrine themselves are collabs, and then Rob also adds Steve's solo murrine to the marbles he makes. Brilliant work from these two together!
