Back in the 2000's, Josh teamed up with Wendy Besett to make some VEEEERY special planets. For these amazing spheres, Josh created a special signed planet that Wendy Besett then used as a core to paint on with glass paint, painting one of her beautiful nature scenes around the planet, while cold, with the glass paint. Josh then encased this all in another beautiful layer of crystal. The results are INCREDIBLE and fascinating and as beautiful as marbles get. These are incredibly special pieces of marble history, and only a small number of them were made back then. Of this collaboration in the early and mid-2000s, Besett writes, "My collaboration with Josh was as much an excuse for old friends to get together and play as it was to produce art. As an artist experimenting with colorants in glass, I liked the idea of balancing the earthiness of my Vermont-inspired landscapes with the cosmic feeling of Josh’s Planets. Our spheres felt magically both ethereal and grounded.”
