There only a couple styles of Kobuki marbles that are rarer than the planet marbles like this one that I know of, the Heike Crabs for sure, and probably the Tengu. (And then there are a few experimental marbles John did early on, like the dragon, which he has since created more of.) Personally, since I love space and sci-fi, this is my absolute favorite style from John, the flower with a scene behind it which includes a planet. John was making these back in the early 2000's, but for the most part stopped after that since he doesn't like making them. It's too bad, because they are SOOOO cool!! I've seen maybe 20 of these out there and that's it. Ultra-rare to the max. John also doesn't do wigwag designs any more like you see in the background of this one, because he felt like the wigwag got overused there for a while, so that's another rarity here. This is just flat out a wonderful marble, so clever and cool, and VERY hard to let go of. A true gem for the serious Kobuki collector!
