Like so many of the great artists these days, Jared just continues to push the limits of how awesome a marble can be! This is one of the nicest, coolest marbles from Jared that I have ever sold, and I'm sure some would put it at the top. This one is part of his basket series - #1 is in my collection and will stay there, and this is #2. It is a large marble for Jared, and simply some of the best work he has ever done, such a FANTASTIC idea, as he is using color and carving to create a basket weave in one section of the marble, sometimes in the bottom half of the marbles, and this time around the middle so that he could make this special beauty double-sided. Each side of the 'basket' then has a huge flower featured, and they are STUNNINGLY beautiful. Jared is really the only other boro marble artist besides Kobuki who I feel has developed his own original technique to create beautiful 3D flowers that just grab you with their beauty. The hot glass work is amazing on its own, and then when Jared combines it with his perfect sense of cold worked carving to create texture, these marbles just pop.
