This is one of the earliest marbles I've seen from James, and I think it's the earliest I've sold. If you like historical glass, especially from Alloway, then you need this one in the collection! It has a couple of bubbles, the type of thing you'll see in the earliest works from most artists, but they don't detract from the wonderful design that has rainbow canes and twists laid over a citrusy orange core. The subtle dichro really puts this one over the top, one of the finest early marbles you'll find from an artist! Signed 'Alloway #4'.
