This is an early Gateson Universe marble from the SECOND year after he started selling them, 2003. For you Gateson collectors out there, this is one of those that you want, giving you a historical piece and a look into the evolution of the Universe marble. In 20, 30 or 40 years when Gateson's body of work spans decades, this will be amongst the most sought after marbles you can find, one of those rare gems from the early years, already displaying Gateson's glass brilliance.

Unique to this marble is the halo that Gateson created next to the two awesome planets. I've never seen a feature like this in another Universe marble. Also unique is the fact that the backside has a moon on it, and yet there is no floating moon inside. This is another indicator of Gateson's early work, since soon after this he decided that the mooon on the back would signify the existence of some sort of floating moon inside, either opal or gold. Interesting stuff - I didn't even realize this early type existed until taking pics last night. Fantastic piece for any collection!
