"The Element Experiment" Size: 0.92" Price: SOLD

In New Jersey there is a place called the Wheaton Village Cultural Arts Center, home to an old glass factory, and now a world class museum as well, with local and guest artisans working glass year round there. For about 8 years running (up through 2010, with a year off in 2009) they used to have an event called Marble Weekend. In 2007, Gateson was the featured artist for this event, the only borosilicate artist to ever be featured, and also the first lampworker to be featured (previous artists had all been furnace workers). To commemorate this event, Gateson came up with an amazing idea, and created 100 'blind' surprise boxes, each with one of his marbles inside. The grand prize, 1 out of 100, was a mini Universe with a pure gold moon in it (won by my super crazy-lucky friend Bonnie). Each blind box was sealed, and you got to open it and find out what Gateson marble you had won - it was AWESOME fun!! This is your chance to own one of the marbles from that limited edition special run of marbles, which Gateson called The Element Experiment. Each box also came with a 'space fact', which is included with this one as well. Very rare opportunity for this historically killer marble, don't pass it up!
