This is the new 'must have' for every collection of Gateson Universe marbles, because these comets are SWEET! This comet in particulat is probably the best one I've seen yet as far as looking like a real comet. It's truly amazing what Gateson is able to do in glass! The comet actually has an opal as its core, which Gateson reference on the backside of the Universe marble with the crescent moon design. The crescent moon always indicates the presence of an opal moon in a Universe, so Gateson continued to use that insignia, even though the opal is in this case embedded in the heart of a comet.

The comet is complemented by two very sweet planets and lots of blue aurora fuming. I should point out though that the marble looks less blue in hand under regular lighting, and you have a much clearer view of everything inside the Universe than these photos would seem to indicate. Don't miss this one!
