For those not familiar with Glass Addiction, it was a contemporary marble forum that my friend Craig and I started back in 2004. It has been basically defunct for a while now (thanks to Facebook, ha), although it can still be viewed and there is a lot of historical info there. For 8 straight years, from 2005-2012, we put on an Alphabet Marble Contest and invited any and all glass artists each year to submit marbles that were then photographed (and later filmed) and voted on by the community. Winners received donated prizes and also 100% of the cash proceed of the sales of the marbles on eBay after the contest (awarded by decreasing percentage amounts). Every year we had all 26 letters covered by the artists. It was a lot of work but also a lot of fun, a great challenge for the artists and fun for the collectors in the community to see and maybe purchase the results.
