Hi Rebecca...I served with your dad in Viet Nam. Saw your request for guys who knew him on Steve Chappel's picture page. I wish I could tell you I remember your dad but to be honest, after 40 years I don't remember much about anyone. I do remember the night the sappers got the bomb dump though. I was on post Kilo six. That was North bay near the ammo dump. Your dad could probably tell you which assignment he had that night. I recently retired from the Salem Oregon Police dept. and after 30 years as a cop, that night in Cam Ranh is still THE most memorable night of my life. Anyway I wish your dad well and say hi to him for me. I was known as Sgt. Ski and my dogs name was Bouncer. Ask him if he remembers the day we bet Cooley he couldn't drink a shot of beer a minute for an hour without getting out of his chair. Have your dad write if he's inclined....Dave Wolk-Laniewski
