This is the original 55mm image overlaid onto the 55mm image taken from one foot further away. Note that things line up fairly well on the Kanji Dictionary book to the right of the frame. However, take a look at the background, in particular the top left. Nothing lines up, nor are things scaled correctly. To even line things up in that corner requires at least 150 pixels of movement--about 4.89% of the total image width!
Moving backward a mere foot caused this change in perspective. The focal lengths in both images are the same.
Changes in camera position affect perspective. As the other images in this folder have shown, changes in focal length do not affect perspective.
