01-DEC-2011 (c) Doug Cruden

1st - Eyesight

Cheltenham, Glos.

We had some of these tiny wee baby carrots the other night - very toothsome, so I thought I'd cook them again tonight

And with all the dark and gloomy weather we're having the extra sight-enhancing quality of carrots will be more than welcome :o)

Lovely picture! At first I thought, by seeing the thumbnail, what's this little animal doing inside this orange thing? :) Maybe I should eat some more carrots too. To me it means you made an interesting picture from this vegetable. Well done! V

Yeah, what they all said.

I really love this one Doug. The colors are gorgeous and the point of view is spot on. The way the carrot tapers off into infinity is fantastically beautiful. BV

I heard that was a myth! Anyway, nice shot, great dof. Well done.

That's very good, amazing DoF. Now I suggest doing away with he healthiness and make a carrot cake instead.

Nice macro shot. You have a very healthy diet!
Mairéad01-Dec-2011 20:35
Superb macro. I once got a mini carrot like this in an envelop at work - nothing else. Weeks later I discovered it was a PR stunt for a new range of cosmetics called ' Just Carrots'.

Great shot for an everyday object

Good for many things in the gloomy Winter months.
Walter Otto Koenig01-Dec-2011 19:54
Great shot. A couple of more carotty meals like this and you'll be able to forgo the autofocus. :)
Milan Vogrin01-Dec-2011 19:38
Nice dof.
Phillip Normanton01-Dec-2011 19:33
You'll be invaded by wabbits if you're not careful - best get them on the boil quick :o)

Nothing wrong with your eyesight...or your imagination...if you can conjure up images like this, Doug.
:-)

Lovely source of beta-carotene! Great dof too! :)
Mary Bowles01-Dec-2011 19:21
Right.
Now, off with its head, and get it in the pot.
(A grand shot and how nice to see that 'toothsome' is still alive and well, and living in Gloucestershire.)

This is a very cool photo! You know you are an impressive photographer when you can turn a carrot into art! :o)
