11th - "Breakfast of Champions"

Cheltenham, Glos.

1999 film with Bruce Willis and Nick Nolte, based on Kurt Vonnegut Jnr's 1973 novel. IMDB has this to say: "a portrait of a fictional town in the mid west that is home to a group of idiosyncratic and slightly neurotic characters. Dwayne Hoover is a wealthy car dealer-ship owner that's on the brink of suicide and is losing touch with reality"

I didn't see the film but thoroughly enjoyed Vonnegut's novel; judging by the reviews, the film didn't live up to expectation and was a bit of a celluloid turkey...

You can't go far wrong with porridge for brekkie - guaranteed to keep you healthy and excellent in keeping that nasty cholesterol stuff at bay. Best had with lashings of milk, no need for anything else!

Would have been a good choice. I remember this movie but not too clearly. Must have been a late night cable viewing.

The film was actually very good, it had Albert Finney as Kilgore Trout, but of course the book was better. It always is isn't it? As for the porridge, I'm afraid I'm of the school that says milk is for babies and cereal is for cattle. Maybe it's because I spent all my teenage years in Asia where we had neither. I do like a good rice porridge though. :)
