18th - Eye Eye

Cheltenham, Glos.

Well, it finally had to happen - having stumbled around for the past few years, progressively holding books and newspapers further and further away from my peepers as old age ravaged my eyesight, I swallowed my vanity and dignity this week and had my eyes tested. We didn't get off to a good start:

"So Mr. Cruden, when was your last eye test - within the last 5 years?"

"Ummm, 1975 I think but I'm not sure, it could have been 1976...or maybe 1978"

The futility of getting the date right only made the optician's universe-sized pause bigger....oh dear! So, I will be bespectacled for reading and computer work from now on...what fun! I wonder how long it will take for me to sit on them??

I had to give in and get glasses last year at the risk of poisoning the family as I
could no longer read the small print at the back of medicine and food packages.
I keep one pair at home (which I can never find) and another pair at work.
A terrific shot without glasses.

positively cyclopean view...lots of sparkle in that eye, despite problems with focus...get a second pair right away, and keep them in a different place...you'll be glad you did..

I wore goggs for 33 years and then had them lasered. But it was too good to last...middle age crept up to me and I now sport reading/computing goggs. Welcome to the club Doug.

LOL. Hey, I have been wearing them as long as I can remember and that is a long time. Hope your post processing does not suffer from your being able to see what you are doing. :)

Been there, done that, opted for the laser!!! ;)

"Eye eye" matey! You'll get used to them, but it's terrible when you misplace them and you're trying to adjust camera settings! Nicely seen. ;-)

Eye see you! I had to get glasses about 6 years ago and never had to wear them before. Now, I have to wear contacts or glasses all the time! Getting older sucks sometimes!

Welcome to the world of old four eyes!!! I've worn glasses/contacts since I was 8 yo. You're lucky to have waited this long!
You have a lovely eye BTW!

Lol, every 12 months in future, then as they get worse with age every 6, nice eye shot though.
