17th - Smoothie

Cheltenham, Glos. view map

Out for a walk in Pittville Park at lunchtime, and I decided to try the blurred water effect...hand-held, braced against a handily-placed tree, not a particularly inspiring shot and I won't be winning any awards with it, but it's not bad for a first effort in this technique I think :o)

Great effort Doug, especially hand-held!!

I think you did fabulous with the hand held. I never use a tripod. You aced it!

1/5 second worked its magic!

Very impressive, I can't hand hold a shot at 1/50th. Must be the alcohol .

Trees, cars, walls, tripods, husbands ~ whatever it takes to steady the shot! Well done Doug!!! :^)

I rarely use a tripod...you have proven it's not always needed!!

The water is how you wanted it, and the green rocks make a good contrast. Well done.

Very sharp and clear and nice blur effect in the water. The tree served you well and tripods are overrated anyway. :)

It's turned out very well and there's a nice spring feel to it (no pun intended).

Great comp Doug! ... perfect exposure for water movement and some wonderful slime to light the shot with colours!
Johnny JAG17-Mar-2010 20:36
Good use of the treepod.

Well the sharp bits are impressively sharp for hand-held-with-a-tree :o)
