Forgotten Moments

Cheltenham, Glos

Just a few (the end of S and beginning of T) of my oft-overlooked LP collection - my! there's some good tunes in there, most notably the first two Television albums, absolutely corking stuff. 'Marquee Moon' in particular brings back very happy memories of late 1977...the year I discovered good music, beer and girls, but not necessarily in that order :o)))

This also brings back memories of the gigs I went to as a fresh-faced youth, seeing my favourite bands during the punk and new wave explosion of the late 70s and early 80s - Gang of Four (just fantastic), Comsat Angels (one of my favourite bands...ever!), The Cure, Siouxsie & the Banshees (twice), Ultravox!, Iggy Pop, Talking Heads (three times), Ian Drury & The Blockheads, APB, Orange Juice, Josef K, Aztec Camera, Positive Noise, Scars, The Skids, The Rezillos, and many more...happy happy days!!!

Lovely memories to have, my vinyls were more along the lines of Dave Brubeck etc...

Cracking shot, I could ponder for an age over that little collection

An excellent choice...I wish now I had documented moments that have been forgotten

Very nice music. Especially the Steely Dan

Oh wow, my kind of music!! And now you brought back a bunch of my memories, too. I still have many of my LPs, but don't have a record player anymore. Great entry!

Boy, we have lost so much since the format for playing "our" music has changed. Great point and super photo.

oh, so very clever!

Great idea - I keep meaning to resurrect my old lps but they are buried away, sorry, I mean in storage, somewhere.

Great job! I still have a bunch of LP's and doubt I'll ever get rid of them!

OhOh, I feel old, I know the names but that is all I can say.
What a great idea though.

Television, didn't they have an album about me?

Very well-thought out image for the challenge, and one which is nostalgic for many of us who were brought up on vinyl.

Oh, this is nice! Love to hear some.

Brilliant shot of album covers!! I love how memories and music are so closely tied together. I was a full-time musician for many years and have strong memories from both sides of the stage (i.e. making and listening).

Wish I could remember everything I've read.
