Langley Hill, above Stanley Pontlarge, Glos. view map

We found this wood carving high up on Langley Hill - it gave me quite a shock to see a figure and his dog sitting serene and looking contemplatively over the beautiful early summer's countryside, until I noticed he hadn't moved on our approach. Closer inspection revealed he was made from the tree stump he's sitting on!

This is nice, I like it but can see how it wouldn't last as the timber dried out more and more.
