The Romans built this bridge over the Guadalquivir River during the time of Augustus. The bridge has been renovated several times, last time in 2006.
It is thought that it was part of the Via Augusta that went from Rome to Cadiz. Presumably, the actual lighting system is not part of the original bridge.
