pacu jawi, which literally means cow racing (pacu = race, jawi = cow/ox), is a unique traditional sports from minangkabau, west sumatra. it involves 1 man and 2 cows. the cows pull the jockey in high speed, as fast as they could run.
the only means of controlling the cows is by holding and pulling the cows' tails, and often jockeys will bite the tails to speed them up. often times often those cows will run to unpredictable directions, rather than go straight. so spectators need to be very careful as not to be charged by those cows.
