Cooper's Hawk (juvenile)

Spokane County Washington

When the 'bird hawks' arrive, the small birds burst up and away. Any bird too slow to react, will freeze in position. The hawks then jump from branch to branch (seen here)in hopes of scaring the hiding birds into motion. The hawk then chases the one that flees.
