The rabbitbrush Chrysothamnus nauseosus on this site was just beginning to bloom when a hatch of blister beetles began to make quick work of the newly emerging blossoms. There seemed to be plenty to go around and I saw no lasting damage to the plants. Many species depend on these plants which continue to bloom through October.
