Northern Flicker (red-shafted form)

Fern Ridge Wildlife Management Area - Veneta, OR

The flickers in the west are of the red-shafted variety, whereas the flickers seen back home (WI and MN) are of the yellow-shafted variety.

This is actually one bird in two photos I took, which I combined into one photo (found this out by foolin' around on Photoshop on my own)
