Interesting pair of gulls with Thayer's and Iceland characteristics

Gull #3 (IMG_9246 thru 9294) seems to be a 3rd winter, primaries patterned like a Thayer's, showing a light, not dark, eye
Gull #4 (IMG_9276 thru 9384) shows a dark eye, pink legs richer in tone than gull #3, much darker primaries than #3
I agree that the adult, dark-eyed bird looks like a typical Thayer's. The light-eyed, 3rd-winter bird looks good for a Kumlien's Iceland Gull, due to the gray tone to the dark mark on P6, and no dark pigment on P5. The P5 and P6 are adult-like on this bird, and Thayer's should have blackish marks extending to P5, and should not show a bright yellow eye. - Nick Komar
