My wife and I visit Pearl Harbor on most of our frequent visits to Oahu. It is always an emotional visit There are many visitors from the US and Japan. The USS Arizona memorial is part of this complex and we try to take the US Navy ship to the memorial. The sunken ship is an official grave site for the 2,000 on board. Oil has been rising from the ship for 70 years and was described by a child years ago as "the ship is still bleeding." I tried to capture this emotion. Ford Island has a new museum in a hangar from WWII. The green glass at the top of the entrance was placed in 1938. It contain bullet holes from the attack. I made these holes into abstracts. The memorial to the USS Oklahoma is new and the white pillars stand for the sailors lost, standing in a formation. The battle ship is the USS Missouri, the site of the signing of the surrender by the Japanese. The metal sculpture is of Oahu and the locks of Pearl Harbor are at the top.
