Most people around here see chipping sparrows by the dozens around their feeders in late winter, early spring. Pictures of them in the front yard are easy. Finding chipping sparrows in the woods isn't hard because of the size of the flocks. But getting them to strike a pose and sit still is definitely harder in the woods.
